About This Plant

Violette de Bordeaux is a self-fertile fig tree (Ficus carica) known for sweet, dark purple figs with strawberry-colored flesh and a rich, jammy flavor. The plant is compact, typically reaching 6–10 ft tall, and thrives in full sun. It is cold hardy in USDA zones 7–10 and can be container-grown or overwintered indoors in colder climates.

What You Will Receive

You will receive a bare root starter plant, ready to wake up and grow during the season. This is a self-fertile variety, so no pollinator is required. Expect fruit in 1–2 years under proper conditions.

Live Plant Notice

Live plants naturally vary in size, shape, foliage, and appearance. Depending on the season and shipping conditions, plants may arrive dormant, leafless, pruned, bare root, or show minor shipping stress such as wilting or leaf loss.

Listing photos may show a mature plant for reference. The plant you receive may be younger or smaller depending on the size and condition stated in this listing.
