Chicago Hardy Fig Tree (Ficus carica) - Live, Self-Fertile, Cold-Hardy, Container or Ground Plant

About This Plant

The Chicago Hardy Fig Tree (Ficus carica) is one of the most cold-tolerant fig varieties, surviving winter temperatures down to -10°F and thriving in zones 5–10. It produces sweet, dark purple-skinned figs with reddish flesh. This self-fertile variety does not require a second plant to bear fruit and is suitable for planting in the ground or growing in a container, making it ideal for patios, balconies, or garden beds. It prefers full sun for best fruiting.
