It features spine-free pads (spines must be torched before eating), edible yellow blooms in late spring, and sweet mini-fruits. This cultivar is extremely cold and drought tolerant, surviving from -10°F to 120°F with well-draining soil. It thrives with minimal water once established and is suitable for dry landscapes, edible gardens, and animal forage. Growth is described as 1-2 ft tall with spreading habit.
