About This Plant
Blue Creeping Thyme (Thymus serpyllum) is a perennial ground cover that forms a low-growing mat. It produces purple flowers in late spring to early summer, with blue-green fragrant leaves. It tolerates full sun to partial shade and thrives in well-drained, sandy or rocky soil, making it ideal for rock gardens, borders, or between pavers. It is drought-tolerant once established and fairly resilient to light foot traffic.
